BIG VINTAGE NAVAJO NATIVE AMERICAN STERLING SILVER LARGE TURQUOISE RING sz10.5

  

On offer is a big, handsome authentic vintage NAVAJO hand wrought. 925 sterling silver ring adorned with a large beautiful natural gem quality hand-cut and polished southwestern desert sky blue rectangle shaped cushion cut cabochon turquoise stone that is characteristic of material from the Kingman mines of Arizona.

The stone is on a plaque decorated with heavy crescent shaped wire work. This ring is hallmarked STERLING, it is not hallmarked for maker which was quite common in earlier Native American jewelry prior to 1970.

We believe it was created circa 1950's or perhaps earlier. This ring was skillfully crafted with attention to detail in the NAVAJO tradition and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). It has the patina and smooth feel of quality older silver work. The hand-cut and polished southwestern desert sky blue turquoise with golden matrix cabochon stone is in very good condition with no chips or cracks and is firmly and securely set in a plain silver bezel.

11/16" long x 9/16" wide. Overall, the ring plaque measures approx. 3/4" long x 3/4" wide; the ribbed shank is approx. 9/16" tapering to 3/16" wide.

This NAVAJO ring will fit approx. It weighs a hefty 13.8 grams.
